Hamba Mama is a Zulu word meaning "Go Mama".
That is what I am here to help you do. I am a certified Pilates instructor who specializes in diastasis recti recovery, pelvic floor function and pre- and post-natal exercises and movement. To keep the focus on the mamas, I offer a in-home service tailored to your specific needs and abilities.
Research has shown that it is beneficial for recovery to start moving a day after giving birth. The first week after birth would be a perfect time for me to step in and help with releasing the fascia and reactivating the abdominal muscles (transverse abdominus). Specialized practices like stomach massage and binding will support your body after giving birth. I start by helping activate all the correct muscles in a safe and gentle way, and then we progress as you become stronger through the work we do.
